Azer Zeynalov (Azerbaijani: Zeynalov Azər Zeynalabdin oğlu) (born 13 December 1964) is Azerbaijani opera singer, (tenor), film composer, actor, and music professor. He is a People's Artist of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Dagestan.〔''Trend'' (13 December 2011). ("Tələbələri ad günündə Azər Zeynalova dəri kürsü hədiyyə ediblər" ).〕 == Biography == Azer Zeynalov was born in Nakhchivan in an intellectual family. Living in Baku since 1969, Azer started school in 1972 in No. 132 secondary school and No. 12 music school's fortepiano class. In 1982, he entered to Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts' drama director faculty, during his education, he has been to army for 2 years. So he has graduated from drama director faculty in 1989. In 1990 his passion to music made him to attend as a singer to State Song Theatre named after Rashid Behbudov. At the same time, he has attended to Rafiq Babayev's "Cengi" Bərabər olaraq Rafiq Babayevin "Cəngi" ensemble and the same year he has become a laureate of "Odlar Yurdu Baki-90" song contest. In 1992, in order to continue his education he entere to the Baku Music Academy's vocal branch. In 1994 he entered to vocal branch of Italy State Conservatory named after "Agostino Steffani" in Kastelfranko. In there, he took vocal lessons for 2 years from professor Alemanno Osvaldo, who was the assistant and student of Mario del Monako. In 1996 he finished his education as an opera singer and came back to Azerbaijan and finished his education in Baku Music Academy. Since 1996 he is a solist in Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Balet Theater. With his "Liriko-dramatik tenor" voice tone he is the leading performer of Europe and Azerbaijan. Azer Zeynalov is not only an opera singer, he also performs the songs, romances and oratarios of Azerbaijani composers. These include Emin Sabitoglu's "Sukriyyə", "Genceden gelirem", Tofiq Quliyev's "Bextever oldu", "Azerbaijan" ("Russia" in movie "Bextiyar". To dedicate this work to Azerbaijan and its first performance belongs to Azer Zeynalov), Rauf Hajiyev's "Leyla" (to make a text in Azerbaijani, for this song in Russian, is the initiative of Azer Zeynalov), Ramiz Mirishli's "Veten harayi, Ruhengiz Qasimova's "Seninleyem, Azerbaycan", Ramiz Mustafayev's "Mehemmed and Leyla", Vasif Adıgozelov's "Qem karvani", "Tenteneli kantata", "Çanaqqala", "Qarabağ şikestesi", Mobil Babayev's "Ölüm-qara qarışqa", Azer Dadashov's "Ana yurdu" odasi etc. In his repertuar folk music is also included. His first album "Şükriyyə" was made by Turkish RAQS company in 1997. He has performed in different countries like Italy, Austria, England, France, Sweden, Germany, Czech Republic, the Netherlands, China, Turkey, TRNC, Russia, Belarus, Moldova, Gagauz, Ukraine, Dagestan, Georgia, Tajikistan, Tatarstan, Kazakhstan, Tatarstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Hungary, India, Morocco, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, USA, Canada etc.. In 2007 he has become a pilgrim. Azer Zeynalov has been nominated for lots of prices. In 1995, he was awarded with gold medal by the "European Turkish-Islamic Cultural Society". In 1998, he was awarded the People's Artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan. In 2008, he was awarded the title of People's Artist of the Republic of Dagestan. In 2013, he was awarded by the medal establəshed by the "Turksoy" company. In 2013 he established "AClassic vocal group". Since 2001, Azer Zeynalov works as the head of the department of vocal pedagogy of Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Art. He has given dosent title in 2009 and Professor scientific name in 2013. He has established program for Vocal singing in 2008 as magister and in 2012 as bachelor. His book ''Vocal Singing'' published in 2012 is the first textbook in Azerbaijani in this branch.
